Got belted today.

For the first time in many many years (actually in living memory) I bought a belt.

I got into a new pair of jeans last week. Still a Size 26, but a smaller-than-usual pair. Before I started, I couldn't even get them past my calves. Now they go on, and are loose in the waist and fally-downy.

So I bought a belt. Got one of those 'army style' ones, with the webbed belt, so it'll resize easilly, no need for belt holes, just move the webbing through the clip. You know the style...

I've figured out the standard size 14 sizes, which is my goal, and I have 149cm still to lose. I've lost 39cm so far.

Question is, why is it the boobs that go first???

Time

Time, there's just not enough of it.

I love my evenings. The kids go to bed at 8.30, and after that it's my time to relax. I watch telly until around midnight. Sometimes (too often) I'm still up at 1am or 1.30am watching the last of the interesting things, then I go to bed and get up at 7.30am.

I'd LOVE to get 8 or 9 hours sleep , but, getting up at 7.30am precludes that.

I know... I KNOW!!! I need to get to bed earlier. But then I'd miss my knitting and my telly and etc... My resolution is to be in bed before midnight every night. I'm sure this'll help both my health and my weight loss.

Would be nice if there were an extra few hours in the night, so I could still be up till 1am AND wake up at 7.30am, AND get 8 hours sleep. Hmmm... Ya canna change the laws of physics... Unfortunately.

Visitors

Had a friend come visit on Monday.

He's on the Cohen programme too, so cooking dinner was fun, it was How many grams of Meat and How many grams of Veg are you allowed??? hehe. It was fun.

Then in the morning I made muffins. I chop up the veg allowance of zucchini, mushrooms, onion and a little garlic, and put it into a muffin tin, then crack an egg over the top. Then bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 180C. If I'm going to eat it right away I leave the yolk entire, so it's runny over the veg, but if I'm going to store them, I lightly whisk the egg through the veg and when it cooks it's like a little muffin. They are really yummy and I make a whole tray the reheat them (uwave 1 min) in the morning. Makes a great change to yoghurt!

He's lost 25kg and looks fantastic. His wife has also been on the programme, but she's nearly finished and he said she looks AMAZING! It's inspiring. It was lovely to catch up with him.

bloody cold

Had a bad week this week, loss wise. Less than a Kg. But lost 14cm total dimensions, and fit into a new pair of jeans...

As soon as I told Sue what my weight loss was, she said "Have you had a cold?" I said "yes". She told me that was why I hadn't lost much, because my body has shut down the metabolism to counteract the cold..

I also got an email from Sue, saying she'd read my blog and seen I'd been eating Salmon, and aparrently that's a no-no. Too high in fat content. Hmm. I bet that didn't help.

Oh well, Rhett, Tomorrow IS another day.

Habits

Went to the piccies today, we were running a little late, and walked in just as it was starting. On the way in, I thought, Hmm, I'll just run over and get an ice cream and chips before I go in. It was involuntary. Almost mechanical. Of course, I didn't get either, and just ate my crispbread and an apple that I was due for during the movie.

It was the same last night, at the Trivia especially. As soon as we sat down, out came the chips and nuts and lollies. Every one of the prizes was chocolate. It's no wonder we associate food with reward.

The card night last night was deliberately 'snack free'. We played from about 9pm till about 11.30pm. We're ALL a little cuddlier than necessary, and past card nights have been full of chips, lollies and cheeses with associated condiments. We still managed to have a great time.

Well, weigh in tomorrow. I'm hoping it's around 3kg. Will post tomorrow.

Tomorrow's also the aforementioned restaurant lunch. Should be a fun day.

What a day!

Well, had a great day today. All over the place, but not too shabby!

Had to sit an exam this morning, which was not as difficult as I expected, and was over in half the allotted time, so I hope I passed (won't know for 2 months!).

Got home, and was looking forward to a quiet day recovering from the exam and associated study, when my partner announced that he wanted to go away for the evening to look at a farm. I had a headache, and the thought of 3 hours in the car was nearly sending me spare. Then he said his brother would go if I didn't want to, so I jumped sideways FAST! Would have been nice, but I just didn't want to do the drive. I think I'm getting a cold.

So, instead, I went out with his cousin, my friend Mark.

Mark and I went to a Latin Dancing lesson. Those of you who know me may stop laughing now. Thank you. We had a ball! I've never done Latin Dancing before, but definately have the bug now, we're going again next Saturday, and we'll take the girl child, she'll love it!

After that he'd been invited to a Trivia night, so I tagged along! Had a ball there too! I love trivia nights, but never get the chance to go due to kid-stuff.

THEN! After all that, Mark and I came back to my place, as I had friends coming over for a card night. We played for a couple of hours, I have no idea who won, and don't think anyone cares. We play 500. I was happy coz I had a Lay Down Misare, and won the hand, which is always good!

I am really happy I can still walk after the Latin Dancing. My hips are sore, but they'll be fine in a couple of days. The food was interesting, as we just went out in the arvo and since I had a Fish dinner tonight, I just took a can of salmon with me. We ate at Mark's parent's place, so I raided Auntie Helen's Fridge for lettuce and a couple of slices of Tomato, and a few slices of Cucumber. I couldn't weigh it, because there were no scales there, but three thin slices of tomato, about 8 thin slices of cucumber and 3 lettuce leaves couldn't weigh THAT much! It definately wasn't overboard.

The funniest thing all day was, At the Latin Dancing, there were door prize tickets given out. The first drawn was Mark's, so he won a box of chocolates. Then he threw his ticket into the pot by means of getting rid of it. Then he drew out a lady's ticket who didn't want the prize, so the facilitator drew out another ticket. It was MARK's again!!! They laughed and drew yet ANOTHER ticket. Believe it or not, it was MINE! Another box of Chocolates!

Then, at the Trivia night, The prize was a box of Chocolates. Our table won it. The other end of the table opened it straight away and shared it out, but I didn't have any. Then a little later yet another pack of Chocolates was won by our table!!! By this time no-one was really interested in them, so I took them home.

One box from the dancing was given to Mark's mum. One box has been put into my cupboard to give to my mum when she turns up in a couple of weeks, and the bag of kit-kat's will go into my kids' lunches this week. So all's good.

It was a GREAT Day! Thanks Mark!
