little pots.

I have often wondered why Hotplates come in small and large.

I've never really used the small ones. The only size of anything I knew how to cook was bloody huge.

A huge saucepan, large frypan, Big bowls. Maybe my new motto should be Big Bowls make Big Bums.

Today, while shopping, I saw a cute little 15cm Frypan. Non stick, came with an egg flip. Really nice. So I bought it. It's just the right size for cooking a small piece of meat or fish. The other week I bought a 1lt saucepan, so I'm all set for making small meals.

Hopefully Small Meals make Small Bums. hehe

I seem to have a cold today, woke up this morning with a very runny nose, so have been miserable all day. Spent the day watching telly, napping and knitting a pair of gloves for the girl child. In between my napping I missed out on my mid-afternoon apple. So, I'm hungry tonight.

This plan really IS that close to the edge. Miss an apple, feel like I'm starving. It's a good thing (not missing the apple, the edgyness) It means that it's working. I'm not hungry if I stick to the plan. Exactly to the plan.

Next week should be interesting. I'm having lunch with a friend I haven't seen for ages on Monday, but it's at my favourite restaurant, and I'll call them tomorrow and organise my meal, so it should be fine. And Tuesday I'm catching up with another friend who's visiting here from Melbourne (where I used to live) he's on the cohen programme too, and is doing really well, and his wife is on the 'refeed', so I'm really keen to trade stories, he's also in the same industry as I am, so more story trading.

Should be great fun, I'm really hoping he'll have time to stay here Tuesday night, as that'll give us the most chatting time. Girl child will have to clear her bed of all teddy bears again, and sleep with me, so we've got a bed for him. Don't think he's used to sleeping with dozens of Beanie Kids... hehe

Walked around the shopping centre tonight, Had to buy some stuff for boy child's camp in a couple of weeks, walking past all the ladies' clothes on sale was interesting. I really liked so many things, but no point buying my current size, as I have lots, and won't be this size for longer, but then what DO I buy? I can't buy intermediate stuff, coz I don't know what'll fit, and even so, I don't want to buy much of it, and I can't buy end stuff coz I don't know what I'll look like when I'm finished. So I bought nothing. I've decided to just wear what I've got until I'm finished. I've got some smaller stuff in the wardrobe, probably down to size 20. After that it'll be loose and floppy, but no point spending $$ to buy temporary clothes. If I get desperate I'll go raid the Lifeline shop. Must admit, I can't wait to go shopping when it's finished!!!

Love is...

Making the kids your favourite food, watching them eat it, while you eat roast zucchini.

Yup, that's love.

Actually, ya know, other than having to stop myself tasting while I was cooking (from habit) it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

They had Chicken with Tomato Pasta. It was fantastic (so I'm told). There's enough for leftovers for tomorrow.

Still, I had my Chicken, Zucchini, mushroom onion and lettuce. And it was fine.

Had my weigh in yesterday. Lost 2.8kg this week.

It was a little less than I thought it would be (being honest) but, I discovered I've been doing something wrong. I've been eating both pieces of fruit as a fruit salad at night, but aparently I shouldn't be having them both at once.

I've fixed that and altered my routine.

Now this is my routine:

8.00am Breakfast Usually Yoghurt
10.30am Snack 2 Crispbread
1.00pm Lunch Usually Fish and Salad
3.30pm Snack 1 Crispbread and 1 Apple (or other fruit)
6.00pm Dinner Usually either Chicken or Beef with fried Zucchini, mushroom and spinach.
8.30pm Supper Two Crispbread and 1 Apple (or other fruit).

Some days it varies one way or the other by half an hour.

Oh, and, LOTS of water.

Also, Vitamins and Minerals.

So, my day revolves around food. Much more than it did before this programme, but now everything's considered and measured. I feel like, after all this is done, this is an easy 'daily programme' for me to live with. If I go and be silly one day, I can go back to this the next and even things out.

I CAN see that I'll never have a HUGE meal again.

asy :D

The words of master Yoda.

Do, Or Do Not, there is no Try.

Prophetic words for the dieter.

Now, I'm not a star wars fan, never could get into it (love other Sci-Fi, just not SW) but I heard this phrase and it stuck.

That's what it's like with this programme. You are either on it or not on it, there's no 'try'.

I was thinking. I may have blogged this before, but it bears repeating.

To everything there is a season.

There are seasons to most fresh foods. For example Nectarines. (poor example because I'm allowed to have nectarines, but work with me here). I get no nectarines for 8 months of the year because they are out of season. Somehow I survive.

For me, for the next x months, EVERYTHING Is out of season. Everything except what's on the programme.

It makes it VERY easy to walk past chocolate and chips and cake etc. I just look and say, nope, that's out of season.

As mentioned previously, I'm not having much trouble with any temptations. Just my cup of tea...

A friend brought me a pressie of a new teapot yesterday, I've never owned a nice teapot (well, or any teapot at all) and it's a really cute Glass one with a tea plunger in it. I can't wait to make a pot of tea. That's going to be my finishing reward. A pot of tea.

And some jewelery.
